A nice trip to fly along the 7 cathedrals and 27 basilicas in the Netherlands. Most of these buildings are magnificent in their own right. It surprises me how often these buildings have been teared down, burned to the ground and otherwise total or partly destroyed. Most of them have been rebuild several times and most of them have been extended. Even during their existence there were changes of which religion owned the church and was entitled to the revenues of the clergy. You can read it in the several histories in this document. It is by far not complete. It gives a first impression. If you want to know more about specific item, go to Wikipedia. Some pages are only in Dutch, but then the Internet gives lots of opportunities to translate. For this document I have taken the liberty to translate where necessary from Dutch to English, where relevant I left the Dutch text.

The trip is made with Little NavMap and BushMissionGen. So, thanks to Alexander Barthel and F99MLU for their excellent programs. As said the text is mostly Wiki and the screenshots are Google Earth Pro.

The trip is 617 NM in 6 legs. Your aircraft is cold and dark and mostly on the runway and not always in the right direction. You can fly GPS/AP as the flight plan is loaded in the navigation equipment. You can also fly VFR. The text in the Navlog does not follow the GPS by is created from a VFR point of view.

  •  If needed, you can use all assistance options.
  • At airports with fuel, you can refuel.
  • The weather is preset, bur user changeable.
  •  Remember after landing to park your plane and close down.

The package contains:

  • The trip, to be copied to your Community folder. 
  • The flight plan from Little NavMap.
  • A kml file to show the trip in Google Earth.
  • This document, with added explanatory on the cathedrals and basilicas.
  •  Map from Little NavMap
  •  Document with the NavLog text.

Though not mandatory, you can enhance this trip by installing some add-ons. These add-ons are in succession of the legs.
