FS2020Control: Export Control Settings in Microsoft FS2020 to SQLite, Excel and Pdf
What the app does
- Tries to find the settings files of the controls and scans all
- Since version 1.2.5 with Control Context - thanks to all who pointed me to this blatant omission.
- I am not sure if this will work in all installations. Steam installations are special candidates for issues.
- Writes all settings into an SQLite Database, which can be used by advanced users to generate custom reports;
- Displays all control settings, allows for a subset selection and sort order for reporting;
- Generates a PDF reference sheet;
- Generates an Excel file with sortable and selectable entries.
Database, Excel and PDF file are stored in directory Documents/FS2020Key with names such as FS2020Controls_Mouse_A300.pdf. The directory is created when it does not exist.
Installation
- Unzip SetupFS2020Control.zip into a temporary directory
- Double-click `setup.exe`
- You can delete all temporary files after installation
- To start the program, type FS2020Control (part is enough) after clicking start. You can create links to FS2020Control from the popup menu.
Steam Users
After one user had informed me that I had used the wrong directory (that one with the standard templates), I have tried another mystical river to find the correct directory. Not sure if this works, Steam users, please report on github. Currently, I am searching for files in C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\userdata\somenumber\1250410\remote, where somenumber is different on each installation.
Main Window
Since Version 1.3.0: When you have made a change in FS2020, files will be deleted and re-created. A slow blinking label in the menu indicates that a Reload is required.
See the github repository for details
On laucnch I have got this msg :
"Multiple Settings Directories found; don't know which one you want"
How to fix it ?
Thanks,

Thank you very much for your patience. I can report this DOES work with my Steam installation. Which makes me really happy as this is a very useful tool, notably with profiles I didn't use for some time and forgot.

Thanks for your help. It is not surprising, that it works for you because you provided me the settings on your computer. I have tried to generalize the search for the right directory (what happens is there are two matches?), but I still doubt that it will work in all cases.
So please, Steam users, provide feedback here or on github

I don't want to pollute the uploads here until the problem is resolved. Please try https://menne-biomed/uni/SetupFS2020Control.zip. Steam users, please also try this. Version 1.2.4

Just tried version 1.2.2. I have the Store version of MSFS. The program complained that it could not find the files it expected at the Steam path. Can I switch it somehow to look for the Store version?

Sorry, my fault, I had noted it immediately but had to wait 6 hour for re-upload. Please try again

I get the directory but it only holds three files, i.e. FS2020.sqlite, FS2020.sqlite-shm, and FS2020.sqlite-wal. I can't find and pdf or excel file. - If this works it woudl be really useful!

Do you see anything in the tables, similar to Fig 1? What happens when you select a device in the left top window, and then Click Pdf or Excel? If nothing happens, it might be the problem that the directory with settings is different on your computer. What is your language settings in Windows? In case still a problem, please post details at https://github.com/dmenne/FS2020Control/issues

Nice start to this app. I am having one issue though. I can only save the mouse and keyboard devices to excel. When I try to save my other devices (i.e. Yokes and Throttles) the application closes and does not create a excel file. However it does work for all devices if I save to a PDF file.

Thanks ... I had seen that crash before, but could not reproduce it.
This was a problem with Excel worksheet names limited to 31 characters. Fixed.
