The Malpensa airport is the largest airport of northern Italy. It's located 46 km northeast of the city of Milan.
The location of today's airport played a rather important role in the history of the Italian aviation, as on May 27 in 1910 Gianni Caproni's first airplane, the Ca.1, started here. At this historic place Giovanni Agusta built prototype airplanes as well. Later Malpensa became a military airfield. Commercial flying started in 1948. The first intercontinental connection (to New York City) was established only two years later.
Nowadays Malpensa airport has two terminals and a large cargo area.

Release info:
The goal is not to create the airport as realistic as possible, but more to just improve its visual style and is made mainly based on Google Maps data
Everything in this release version is work in progress:
- Terminal 1 will get more details and improved textures in the future
- Not all parking positions and taxiways are included yet but the airport itself is useable
- Illuminations on aprons are currently just roughly placed
- Some lines and ground markings are done, but other areas are completely empty
Update version 0.5:
- Added the first structures of the T2 area. Please note that I had to exclude the autogen buildings for this area, therefore there's a lot of empty space now (shown in the screenshots). This area will be filled in future updates with additional handcrafted structures
- Added the main control tower
- Further parking spots and taxiways
- Additional markings on taxiways and aprons
Known issues, currently not included yet or not planned:
- Not all buildings are done. If a building is currently not present, there is an autogen building instead
- The ATC is not able to recognize the no entry signs on the taxiways
- No optimization for snow on taxiways or on aprons
