Marion Airport (FAA LID: C17) is a city-owned, public-use airport located three nautical miles (6 km) east of the central business district of Marion, a city in Linn County, Iowa, United States.
Marion Airport covers an area of 40 acres (16 ha) at an elevation of 862 feet (263 m) above mean sea level.
This creation for Microsoft Flight Simulator is roughly what the airport looked like before a runway expansion project was started in 2019 to replace the original 3,775 by 100 foot turf runway. The runway had 26 feet of center pavement.
All the buildings as well as the round hay bales and the non typical airfield lighting are handcrafted.
One of my first 3D objects I created years ago is the model of the old office. I left it the way I first created it.
I started this project for fsx a long time ago but never got around to sharing it. Hope you enjoy it, especially if you are one of the lucky ones that learned to fly there.
Now GO FLY!!!

Dość pusto tutaj.
Please DO NOT use modellib.bgl it may crash the sim as soon as someone else does the same and not listen to ASOBO who said not to, the name is there as SAMPLE not to be used, if someone else does not change it in a project near your it WILL crash, some user may not know how to debug.
Next time you recompile this change the name it is quick, and you find lots of videos on the subject on youtube, one specifically is called "two mistakes to avoid msfs sdk" as this is one of the two major contributor to crashes.

Nice work. How about airports around Des Moines? Ankeny and Winterset as starters 😊
