In June 1973 LAN -the chilean flag airline- purchased 6 Twin Otter DHC-6 300 from De Havilland Canada for regional service based in Puerto Montt, in southern Chile. In 1974 they were flown from Toronto to Santiago by LAN pilots in the livery shown, although the aircraft had already been handed over to the Chilean Air Force.
The route, according to the LAN Retired Pilots web site, was as follows:
Toronto - Charlotte - Miami - Great Inagua - Kingston - Barranquilla - Cali - Talara - Trujillo - Lima - Arica - Antofagasta - Santiago
The only restriction was the prohibition to fly over Cuba.
An interesting route for those who want to redo the flight.
Livery only, requires the Aerosoft Twin Otter model.
Excelente.Muchas gracias por la livery. La larga ruta CYYZ/SCEL es interesante para repetirla. De nuevo, muchas gracias.
