This removes trees that are wrongly generated on mountains, especially on peaks, in Switzerland.
I manually removed the most obviously wrong placed trees on mountain tops where there are no trees in reality.

A donation via Paypal Link below is appreciated.

It's all based on the DEM from World Update 6.
If you know a mountain area in Switzerland that has a lot of wrong trees, especially on it's peak, send me a message with example images and I try to include it in the project.

At this stage, I worked on pretty much every mountain area of Switzerland.

Hi! Thanks a lot for your comment. The PayPal link is on the right side where you have compatibility, Category, Initial Release, etc, Status, and then there is the PayPal button above the emojis of the rating.

Excellent work. THANK YOU. I have 2 questions: 1. where do we find your change log? 2. Since your last 2 versions, something weird is occurring: in some areas, the tree disappear when we approach, i.e. we see them from far away, but when we approach the flank of the mountains, instead of building up by autogeneration, they get removed... Try for example to fly from Zweisimmen (LSTZ) to ST Stephan (LSTS) and you will already see on the west flank of the mountain in LSTZ that you have trees next to a sharp line where the tree are gone (on the same terrain) and then when you approach LSTS, the tree start to be removed and you have no more tree on the flank of LSTS when you land ... However, when you fly to LSGT, the tree are all there after you flew over the Jaun pass... Any explanation ?

Hmmm that sounds very odd. I have to look into this.

Sounds more like a bug of MSFS to me... but I'll try to see if I can reproduce it.

If you can capture that on video would be great. Then send me the link please.

Also: do you have any other tree mods installed? For tree size or seasons for example?

I actually think the Swiss mountains over all look pretty good. The DEM in Switzerland is probably better than in any other country at this point.

If only that annyoing terrain morphing/popping would go away

Fantastic work, really makes (along with the great new topo from the world update) the Swiss Alps the best place to fly especially with a helicopter. I have noticed a couple of areas in the high mountains still needing tidying up. One is the area around the Finsteraarhorn hut on the west side of the Finsteraarhorn and the other is the north side of Mont Blanc du Cheilon in the Pennine alps. Both are too high to have any trees.

Actually I already worked on that area, but it's a tricky one because there are also some bushes and if I remove too much, the satallite image looks strange.

But I now tried to improve it a bit more. If you download the file again, it should be a bit better now 😊.

Could you please make sure to avoid the naming of the file:

modelLib.BGL

as it is known to risk producing CTD in case other add on uses the same name?

Ther eis an article about it on flightsim.to and you can check for that file any addon using add on linker.

Thank you for your input. Much appreciated.

I had a look at this forum post.

In post Nr. 66, "Case 3", there is explained that there is NO conflict if the scenerypath is unique.

And that is the case in my mod. However, to make sure, I now changed the path even further, both "company" and "scenery" name are now in the path, so it is very unique and it's pretty much impossible to get a conflict like this. Thank you for this addon, I really like it. However recently I found, that it is causing terrain spikes north of Thun airfield. Can you please have a look at this issue? Thank you again and please keep up with your effort to make Swiss scenery even better.

Hi! Thanks for your comment. Could you send me screenshots where exactly these spikes happen? Because I doubt they are from my mod. I have many spikes too, but they are caused by some airports and even by some Asobo content like the football stadium in Luzern for example.

My mod does a very few terrain adjustments, but only very few, over all it's pretty much only removing (or adding) trees. Please send me a private message here with screenshots of these spikes and if possible the coordinates. Thank you

Der Albulapass ist auch sehr gut geworden. Wenn Du noch Ziele suchst, wirst Du auf dem Berninapass fündig. In Wirklichkeit steht da rund um den Stausee auch kein einziger Baum.

if you like, i can prepare polygons, where no trees and forests are inside... i will just create some 500m buffer around each topgrafic recognized tree, so i think at least close to trees small bushes are still inside. I will do research with official topographic data

I started this AFTER World Update 6. It is strictly optimized to the new DEM we got in Switzerland for World Update 6.

When flying, I noticed that many mountain peaks have trees where there are no trees in reality. To remove them is the goal of this mod.

Regarding Bijan Habashi's vegetation mod: I don't know. All I do with my mod is telling some areas that they should not grow trees (or less). That's all.
