The oil indicator needle now indicate correctly the oil temperature (or at least better than before, it may need some adjustments).
Instructions:
Go to the folder … wing42_boeing_247d\ModelBehaviorDefs\wing42-boeing-247 and look for the file called Instruments.xml. Make a copy of it (just in case you want to go back to the original)
substitute the file Intruments.xml with the downloaded file (after version 3 the folders replicate the plane default installation).
I have included also cosmetic fixes for two indicators included in the folder. Check changelog for more explanation.
I have tested the file in bad weather (40 FHT) and in hot climate (110 FHT), with SAE30 and SAE50, it seems to work around 160 FHT and it matches the outside temperature as well when parked (it takes 5 minutes to adjust, aprox).
Please do as many tests as you wish and comment in here your impressions. Feel free to distribute it.

Superb fix - seems to still be currently working on the latest SU12 patch for MSFS. Temps are staying in the 140-160 temp range with 70-80 psi and engines are not failing.
It's been a long time since I've flown this plane and got the urge to fly it - this fixes the reason I quit flying it. When the dev went AWOL I gave up hope on being able to fly this again with engine failures on - now I can again! BIG THANKS!

Thanks for this. But my Engines still died during flight.
Where do I have to keep My Oil Temperature and Pressure values now?
It is important to use the pressure and not the temperature as the inmediate indicator of the oil temps. Use the grade of the oil depending not on the temperatures on the ground but during the flight (normally about 20f less than on the ground). Keep the pressure around 60-70 psi and the temps (with my mod) around 160f, but do not open the cowling flaps if you do not see teh pressure getting close to 60 psi.

Is this mod still necessary? Or has the 247 been updated by the Wing42 team since this was released?

Otmar (the owner and only developer of the plane) has been MIA since April. The plane still has no received any update.

Have a very good feeling about this...half-way through a warmish flight from KSAN to KSBA, and perfection! 😊
