89FD Lake Hamilton, Florida, United States
Lake Hamilton is a small lake 6nm from Winter Haven’s Gilbert airport central Florida. Lake Hamilton sea-plane base does not yet exist in MSFS so I feel at liberty to let my creative spirit flow. Since the co-ordinates in FSE put 89FD just on the lands edge I decided to create a traditional runway but extending into the lake due to terraforming constraints. Concrete pontoons have been utilised to give the construct plenty of stability.
Since the asphalt runway is only 554m I suggest only small GA’s are used unless your larger aircraft have good STOL capabilities like the BN-2B Islander. You can taxi out directly from the hangar Ramp 1 parkin or from Ramp 2 on the apron. You can also leave directly from Runways 08 and 26.
If you are using a boat plane then use the lake runways 02 and 20. Or for a unique experience try to leave from the hangar Ramp 03 that slopes down into the lake so start with wheels down then raise them up when you hit the water. Landing on the lake then taxiing into the hangar is also doable but be careful not to crash through the hangar wall.
Finally you can also leave by helicopter by selecting N or S for north or south departure.
A big shout-out to the developers of the library files below that you will need to download also.
Enjoy.
